WHAT WE HAVE:
Cramped studios overflowing with creativity and a waiting list of Boston teens who are eager to learn, build community, and earn a wage for empowering work.
WHAT WE NEED:
More space for more teens! We need to close the gap on our fundraising campaign to finish construction on our new space. Together, we will:
Our new space will sustain our pioneering work!
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We've already raised 92% of our expansion fund to complete construction by October—we need your help for the final push. Let's build better futures for the next generation, together.
WHY NOW:
As you may realize, these are not encouraging times for under-resourced teens in urban areas. At this critical stage in their lives, young people need access to SPACE—where they are free to experiment in a safe environment, ask questions, challenge themselves, take creative risks, build community, and provide fine art and design services. At AFH, they can do this all in the same place — while earning money!
At Artists For Humanity, teens learn resilience, practice collaboration, build confidence, and gain the skills they need to be self-sufficient, all while building sustainable futures.
Artists For Humanity (AFH)'s mission is to provide under-resourced urban youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. AFH is built on the philosophy that engagement in the creative process is a powerful force for social change, and that creative entrepreneurship is a productive and life-changing opportunity for young people. Bridging economic, racial, and social divisions, AFH enriches urban communities by introducing young people's creativity to the business world.
The risks and challenges of this project are minimal.
